Gosh, that's a real bummer. Did it take much time/heat to cause that to melt?

BTW, Tractor Supply Company still sells the old style KleenStrip stripper (at least in their stores back east). I just bought a gallon can today. Powerful stuff, but it does the job.

Thanks for the explanations, guys. I guess it would make sense that railroads would have a setup like that rather than direct threading into the horn base.

Were the risers shown a Nathan product? It looks like the mounting pads were (except for the Buell)

Does anyone know how these horn risers function? There are no threads on either top or bottom for an air supply line to be threaded in to. Assuming air travels up the pipe in the center, with the use of a gasket there would be a tight fit at the base of the horn, but what about the air inlet at the ...
