Nozzles press fit into position. Note in some of the photos corrosion of the nozzle boss; this is of no consequence now, since the diaphragm bears on the new nozzle face only!

Keep working the putty knife around the flange until you are successful. Then you can probably remove the broken studs by gripping them in the vise and carefully unscrewing them (using penetrating oil and heat) as described above.

Bolt removal, continued. Once the heads are all either broken off or ground off, you will need to carefully remove the back cap. This is most easily accomplished by using a well-sharpened putty knife, driving it in between the back cap and bell flanges. Of course, the use of heat and penetrating oil...

Stuck Bolt Removal

This is a somewhat mundane subject, but since it comes up so often I thought I'd post how I remove certain classes of broken bolts, in this case from K-horn bells.
