Re: Identifying die cast vs. sand cast bells

Specifically K bells. Is there a sure-fire way to identify which is which? Casting/mold marks/less-sharp flare edges, or grinding marks, maybe? I have a Holden Canadian K3 that I know is sand cast, and an older painted K3la that has two bells that look rough/coarse/"pebbled" enough to be ...

Re: What is this horn?

Actually, the original post is a flop. The clip I uploaded wasn't properly labeled, it was supposed to be a sweet K3 (Canadian?) of some sort that I was trying to positively identify. The site wouldn't allow me edit or delete it.

Sorry for the inconvenience, guys.

What is this horn?

This Nathan horn goes by my house twice a day. What exactly is it? It sits atop an old ex-CN Geep.

(I'm not even sure I've converted/attached/linked it correctly - amateur hour)

Apologies, and thanks,

Re: Early Survivor, BAR M3R2

Congratulations Ron, and thanks for sharing! Any reason by the seller for all those items being saved from one particular locomotive? A retirement gift perhaps? Ron Hi Ron - The seller told me that this stuff came from a neighbor, who was the son of the man that removed the items. Apparently the fa...

Re: Early Survivor, BAR M3R2

Thanks for your research work, Eric. Additionally, I came across an image of BAR's original paint scheme used on that order of the GP-7's.

Early Survivor, BAR M3R2

I picked this M3R2 up on eBay a few months ago, completely unmolested with date codes C50 all around. It was covered in grime and crud, all I have done is given it a series of baths to expose what's left of the original paint. This was mounted on GP-7 560, (later renumbered 60), and delivered 11/50 ...
