Painting bare metal horns

Postby VARfan » Mon Sep 04, 2017 9:04 am

Hey all. I've been thinking of repainting one of my K horns for a while. It's bare metal and clean. Any tips for painting? Any specific type of paint work best?

What kind of metal are you painting? If it is aluminum, the most important thing is to get a good primer coat on it. Something with a little bit of an acid to etch and the surface. I like to use Rustolem rusty metal primer myself, but there are primers that are specifically made for aluminum out there.

It's bare aluminum. I'm going to try and get it finished before cold weather hits.
