S3BJ and replica SL4T
S3BJ and replica SL4T
Here is 2 horns S3BJ and replica SL4T I picked up yesterday at Ed Kaspriske's. The S3BJ is mine and the replica SL4T is Ryan Grantham's. Ed and I had a awesome day chasing trains that day. I will be posting more on that day soon. Plus we went to Steamtown Scranton, PA.

That’s a replica manifold (marked as such) fabricated a few years ago by Ken Kanne. He wrote an article on it published in the Horn & Whistle magazine

As Mike Muha stated above it's a replica SL4T horn.

No, not true. The real one is not lower. The replica is pretty much a spot on copy of the Leslie low-profile 5-chime manifold. Ken used an original to get the correct dimensions when he modified a standard 5-chime (S5T) manifold. He marked it as a replica so it would never be sold as an original at an inflated price.

Re: S3BJ and replica SL4T
Ken did a fine job replicating that SL4T low-profile manifold and trying to assure that it was never mistaken as an original. Quite the craftsman, just like you Mike!
