This K5HA here has no tag on the manifold and the bells do have the raised circles at the bells feet. Horns made by Nathan in the US before 1996 don't have tags. And it also has the narrow font 30109. In 1989 there was a change from wide font 3O1O9 to the modern narrow font 30109. This horn came off a GE B32-8 which all came with K5HA's in 1989. The picture's below is what my Nathan Airchime K5HA would have been on a GE B32-8 locomotive. Total GE B32-8's built from 1984 to 1989 was 49 unites. Norfolk Southern acquired 45 units in build months of 10, 11, 12, of 1989 with Road Number's 3522 - 3566. The units were renumbered beginning in September and October 2013 from the NS 3522 - 3566 series to the 522 - 566 series. All 45 NS units have been retired as of 2013. The GE B32-8's years in service were 1989 to 2013. And the GE B32-8's lasted 24 years of active service on the Norfolk Southern Railroad. So this there K5HA ex-Norfolk Southern is a 1989 horn from the above information. Price $1200.00 shipped in USA.
